Mother and Father Counsellor
Mother and father counselling supports parents from birth until kindergarten entry and is attentive to concerns, questions, and uncertainties. We provide advice on topics such as breastfeeding, sleep, nutrition, development, upbringing, and health. In doing so, we strengthen parents in their role and support them in everyday family life. If necessary, we refer to suitable services and specialist agencies in your area.
The position is being created due to an expansion.
Your tasks
- Independently conducting consultations with parents of children aged 0-5 years on topics such as breastfeeding, nutrition, developmental support, upbringing, and care of healthy and sick children; promoting prevention and health for parents with infants and toddlers
- Supporting parents in clarifying their new roles
- Providing support in psychosocial issues and referring to relief services
- Case-related collaboration and coordination with other professionals and agencies who also support the families
- Performing administrative tasks, including documenting conversations, correspondence, and recording working hours
Your profile
- Training as a paediatric nurse (KWS), nursing specialist DN2/HF, midwife, early childhood educator, social pedagogue, or psychologist
- Completion of a professional diploma in mother and father counselling (HFD or NDS) or federal diploma as an early childhood counsellor, or willingness to obtain this qualification
- Professional experience in mother and father counselling or in a profession related to early childhood
- PC skills; work is done with a notebook; cooperative, friendly personality as well as psychological stability
- Flexible and a team player, willingness to provide mutual cover
- Driving licence category B
