Industrial Automation Project Engineer (m/f/d)

For our production site in Dübendorf, we are immediately seeking a committed individual as Industrial Automation Project Engineer (m/f/d).

In this exciting position, you will support the existing engineering team. You will contribute your profound expertise in an ongoing major project in the areas of automation technology, electrical engineering, process safety, and generally IT/OT directly on site and take responsibility for a central part of the project from the detailed design phase onwards.

You will work in a production-related environment at the Dübendorf site and report directly to the Site Engineering Manager.

Main tasks & project responsibility automation

• MSRL & automation technology: creation, revision and extension of MSRL lists, function descriptions as well as cause & effect diagrams

• Process safety; conducting and follow-up of process risk analyses as well as integration of Safety Integrity Levels (SIL) and Performance Levels (PL).

• Process engineering: handling control engineering issues during the selection and commissioning of various instruments and valves.

• Understanding and extension of process flow diagrams / P&IDs.

• Plant construction: coordination of external trades and technical challenging of solutions proposed by specialist planners in the areas of automation and electrical engineering.

• Assembly & commissioning: planning and leading on-site activities, coordinating assemblies and accompanying/coordinating/performing commissioning on process plants.

Electrical engineering

• Coordination and support of internal and external trades

• Reading and interpreting electrical schematics

• Instrumentation & field engineering: questioning instrumentation selected by the specialist planner and working out the optimal solution for the respective application as a team

IT/OT

• Ensuring compliance with global Givaudan IT/OT standards in the ongoing project

• Creation and implementation of an automation concept taking into account all internal and legal requirements and involving all stakeholder requirements.

• Accompanying the commissioning of measuring and control instruments in the process environment.

• Completed studies (university/fachhochschule) in automation technology, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, mechatronics or comparable. Knowledge in process engineering or industrial process plants is an advantage.

• Professional experience: at least 5 years of experience as an automation project engineer in industrial plant construction / project engineer / field engineer (preferably food, chemical or pharmaceutical industry).

• Automation & safety: proven practical experience in creating/extending MSRL lists, instrument selection as well as knowledge in handling process safety data (SIL, Performance Level).

• Software: ideally experience with Siemens TIA Portal, WinCC, Simatic S7. Good knowledge of Autodesk AutoCAD (2D & P&ID) is an advantage. Confident knowledge of MS Office.

• Working method: independent, structured and goal-oriented working style when handling parallel project phases.

• Languages: German and English spoken and written.

• Process engineering: ideally already experience in the field of spray drying.

• Workplace is Dübendorf. Due to the production-related project execution and upcoming commissioning, predominant on-site presence is required.
