The KiEl Bethanien
St. Gallen is a child-
parent institution. We offer temporary protection.
We provide supervised or supported living arrangements for 15 families with children. The focus is on observing and promoting the child’s welfare, supporting in crisis situations, and stabilising the family system. Our clientele includes women affected by violence as well as parents with mental illnesses, cognitive impairments, or other psychosocial difficulties.
20 - 30%

The location is anonymous because families affected by violence also find protection with us

The 20-30% workload is particularly suitable for professionals seeking flexible part-time work and who enjoy professionally supporting parents and children even in challenging situations.

What you can achieve:
- Independent social pedagogical support and care of parents and children
- Individual support for parents in parenting issues and everyday coping
- Appropriate care of children during the day and at night, especially in situations where parents are overwhelmed
- Taking on about 4 weekend shifts per month in early, middle and late shifts
- Taking on night on-call duties from 19:30 to approx. 07:45. You sleep on site to be available if needed (approx. 4 times a month)
- Taking on domestic tasks as well as co-responsibility for compliance with our quality standards
- Maintaining necessary documentation and ensuring continuous information flow with the day team
What you bring:
- Completed training in social pedagogy or a related field
- Professional experience in the social pedagogical field, ideally with families and children, especially in early childhood care
- Enjoyment in resource-oriented, appreciative and humourful support of children and parents
- You remain calm and keep an overview even in challenging situations. You act professionally and solution-oriented and gladly take on responsibility independently
- Resilience, flexibility and situational action
- Good communication and cooperation skills
- Willingness to take on substitute duties on weekdays
