Secondary School Teacher mbA for Music 70 - 80%The Kantonsschule Zürcher Oberland (KZO) in Wetzikon is a vibrant school that values an open culture, joint commitment, and an inspiring learning environment. It currently runs a lower secondary level (9th/10th school year) with 60 classes and all Zurich Matura profiles. With around 1300 students, 200 teachers, and 40 staff in administration and operations, KZO is one of the large grammar schools in the canton.
KZO has a rich musical life that we wish to continue nurturing. We are now seeking a Secondary School Teacher mbA for Music (70-80%) starting in the 2027/28 school year. According to the Zurich middle and vocational school teacher regulations, this is a permanent position "with special tasks" (mbA).
What we expect:
- You hold a Master’s degree in School Music II (Master of Arts in Music Pedagogy School Music II) or an equivalent diploma for teaching at grammar schools according to MAR.
- You are a versatile and committed musician, have experience in project work (choir conducting, orchestra conducting, band leader, etc.) or are willing to undertake appropriate training. Additionally, you bring skills in various musical styles and broad professional experience.
- You are motivated to teach students both in the basic subject and the specialisation subject and are prepared to be present at KZO at least 4 days per week.
- You have solid practical teaching skills, especially in piano and singing.
- You have teaching experience at the grammar school level and want to engage with our school (supervision of Matura projects, participation in committees, conceptual development of the music subject).
