The Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology METAS is the reference institute for measurements and measuring instruments in Switzerland. To ensure that a liter is always a liter (e.g., when refueling), METAS performs calibrations, conformity assessments, and consulting for business, research, and administration. Measurement accuracy builds trust, especially at the societal and political level, and is indispensable in many areas: road traffic, electricity billing, time transmission, measurements in environmental and health sectors, etc. At METAS, various disciplines come together and complement each other – and this has been the case since 1862.
Your new challenge
- Operation, optimization, and further development of the server infrastructure in the internal data center (Microsoft, Linux, VMware, Veeam)
- Support of the hybrid environment with local Microsoft network operating system (ADS, GPO, DNS, DHCP, etc.) and cloud connections focusing on Microsoft Azure (M365, Entra, Teams, Defender, Sharepoint, etc.)
- Execution of complex IT projects such as setting up a VDI or cloud migrations (Purview, Intune, Exchange, etc.)
- Depending on education and interest, other areas of deployment such as network administration, data science, storage/big data, security, support of apprentices, etc. are possible.
Your profile
- Completed training as an IT specialist EFZ as well as experience in relevant fields.
- Experience in system administration, especially with Microsoft servers and VMware, willingness to take on on-call duty.
- Structured and independent working style, teamwork, enjoyment of internal customer contact and training of young people.
- Very good knowledge of one official language and passive knowledge of a second official language; English skills are an advantage.
