Procurement Manager (m/f/d)

As a first-tier supplier to our renowned business partner, F. Hoffmann-La Roche Ltd. in Basel and Kaiseraugst, we are immediately seeking a motivated and committed Procurement Manager for a temporary assignment of 1 year, with the option to extend.

Within our Global Procurement - Engineering Switzerland department, you will support CAPEX projects in the procurement of engineering, planning, and construction services as well as production and automation equipment. You will be in close contact with our global and regional procurement managers, local project teams, and our suppliers. In close coordination with the respective project teams, to whom you provide advisory support on all procurement-related matters, you will independently manage procurement processes based on the valid procurement strategy until contract completion.

Tasks & Responsibilities:

• Collaboration on preliminary inquiries, in close coordination with the engineering team
• Ensuring all internal and external procurement law requirements are met
• Assisting in the creation and maintenance of a central procurement plan
• Compiling and sending out tenders
• Compiling received offers for evaluation by the project teams
• Evaluating offers and preparing a well-founded award proposal for decision-making within the project team
• Conducting and recording clarification discussions and negotiations
• Preparing contracts and purchase orders
• Tracking expediting tasks within the project
• Collaborating with controlling on change management and identifying as well as realising savings potentials
• Defect and warranty management, close-out process

Must Haves:

• A successfully completed commercial or technical degree or a commercial or technical apprenticeship followed by further training as a federally certified purchaser/purchasing manager
• At least 5 years of professional experience in procurement, ideally in engineering, planning and construction services or production and automation equipment
• Fluent German and English language skills
• Very good MS Office skills as well as experience with Google tools and an affinity for new digital systems, especially AI-based technologies
• Detail-oriented in handling key figures and information storage in general
• Good organisational, analytical and conceptual skills
• Good advisory competence and strong negotiation skills
• Structured, careful and independent working style
• Agility, resilience and teamwork complete your profile
• Good communication skills, proactive communication within the project team and with stakeholders
