Service description:
Your outpatient work will include consultations in vascular neurology, general neurology, and electrophysiology, distributed according to your interests and skills. Two ENMG devices (1 Keypoint and 1 Micromed) and two neurosonology devices (Philips) are available to neurologists. Four nurses specialized in EEG perform hospital and outpatient examinations. The outpatient activity volume exceeds 3000 cases per year.
The neurology medical team in Nyon includes 2 senior physicians (soon 3), 3 chief residents, and 1 medical assistant (including 3 training positions, ISFM B recognition until 2027). The team cares for patients hospitalized in the stroke unit and patients with non-vascular neurological pathologies hospitalized in other hospital departments.
Job description:
In your role, your tasks will impact the quality of patient care. Your role will notably include:
- Conducting outpatient consultations in general neurology, vascular neurology, and according to specializations, amounting to 400 to 600 consultations per year (approximately 20 hours/week outpatient)
- Depending on skills, performing and interpreting clinical neurophysiology exams (ENMG, Doppler, and EEG)
- Supervising a neurology resident in training
- Deciding on acute treatments of thrombolysis and mechanical thrombectomy in acute stroke
- Supervising the care of patients suffering from an acute neurovascular event in the stroke unit (3 monitored beds and 4 unmonitored beds)
- Guiding the care of patients with general neurology pathologies hospitalized in other departments
- Participating in a 7-day on-call duty
- Participating in team meetings to discuss the care of outpatient and hospitalized patients
- Participating in neuroradiology meetings, remote meetings, and training in various neurology specialties
Required profile:
Your success in this new role is guaranteed thanks to your
- At least 3 years of prior experience as a resident or chief resident in a recognized neurology training center;
- Knowledge in electrophysiology in at least one area;
- Desire to specialize in neurology;
- Ability to work in a team under the supervision of senior neurologists;
- Good decision-making and administrative management skills.
Education level:
Federal medical diploma or foreign medical diploma recognized by the FOPH (MEBEKO diploma certificate) required.
Electrophysiology training certificate desired
