Are you a passionate host, enjoy working independently and taking responsibility? Then the Turbinenhaus could be the perfect place for you.

We are a lively catering business in Basel with a unique industrial atmosphere. From Tuesday to Friday, we serve lunch. However, our focus is on banquets, group events and functions, which often take place at weekends.

We maintain a family-like, personal approach, work as a team and continuously develop our business. To strengthen our team, we are looking for a committed individual who enjoys pitching in, keeping an overview and delighting our guests.

Your tasks

Responsibility for the lunch service including opening and closing the business as well as billing
Handling reservations, answering emails and taking telephone enquiries
Active participation in service and at the buffet including preparatory work
Organising and supervising banquets and events in consultation with management
Advising and looking after our guests to ensure a successful event
Leading and coordinating the service team during events
Organising and carrying out smaller events independently
Training, instructing and supporting temporary staff during their assignments
Ensuring order, cleaning tasks and compliance with hygiene regulations
Participating in weekly team meetings and contributing to the further development of the business
Representing management during their absence

Your profile

Training as a restaurant specialist EBA or EFZ or equivalent professional experience
At least two years of experience in service and/or banquet area
Good German skills; Swiss German is an advantage
Enjoyment of guest contact and a strong sense of hospitality
Independent, reliable and responsible working style
Organisational talent, flexibility and the ability to keep an overview even in hectic situations
Enjoyment of taking responsibility, guiding employees and working in a team
A neat and professional appearance
