Chemist R&D
Your Role:
In this role, you will actively support the evaluation of new projects by ensuring the optimal use of existing facilities and the successful implementation of new technologies.
As a Process Engineering specialist, you will provide technical expertise for R&D projects, technology transfers, production troubleshooting, and the identification and implementation of innovative technologies at our Evionnaz site.
Your responsibilities
• Participate in project teams for process development and scale-up as the engineering specialist for distillation, isolation and separation technologies, working closely with the Project Manager.
• Perform Operational Risk Assessments (ORA) as the process engineering expert within the Process Leadership Team (PLT).
• Support R&D Chemists throughout development campaigns up to process validation, including:
o providing on-site customer support;
o reviewing technical documentation;
o participating in risk assessments;
o reviewing production facilities prior to start-up;
o monitoring development campaigns;
o defining data collection plans.
• Provide engineering expertise to the PLT to support production troubleshooting activities.
• Collaborate with Production, QA, QC, Project Managers and R&D Chemists to develop and implement process optimization plans.
• Ensure that all activities within your area of responsibility comply with EHS regulations, cGMP requirements and internal procedures.
• Promote and ensure compliance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), housekeeping standards and cleaning procedures within your area of responsibility.
Your Profile:
- PhD in Chemistry.
- At least 5 years of experience in the chemical or pharmaceutical industry.
- Strong scientific mindset combining rigor, curiosity and an innovative, solution-oriented approach.
- Proven project management skills with a customer-focused mindset.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to engage and align cross-functional teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- French and English mandatory
