About the job
What you will do here
- Identify new research topics in close collaboration with the department management, advance their profiling, and develop competitive third-party funded projects from them
- Initiate research, development, and service projects and play a key role in preparing funding applications
- Actively promote the acquisition of third-party funds and the establishment of future project financing
- Coordinate the implementation of projects scientifically and operationally after successful application
- Co-design practice-oriented courses at Bachelor and Master level in the field of forest process engineering and work sciences
- Supervise Bachelor and Master theses
- Write scientific publications, project reports, and presentations for professional and practical partners
- Build and systematically maintain sustainable cooperations with companies, administrations, and research institutions
What you ideally bring with you
- Completed Master’s degree (MSc) or PhD in Forestry, Forest Engineering, or a closely related field with a clear focus on forest process engineering and work sciences
- Solid knowledge in forest process engineering, forest work procedures, development or production planning, as well as ergonomics in forest work processes
- Experience in participating in scientific projects and developing funding applications; motivation to co-develop your own third-party funded projects in the medium term
- Strong initiative, perseverance, and structured working style
- Strong communication skills and interest in interdisciplinary collaboration
- Interest in teaching and supervising students
- Very good English skills; willingness to learn German. The university actively supports language acquisition. Courses are to be conducted in German in the medium term
