Your Tasks
Processing criminal proceedings: Under the guidance of experienced public prosecutors, you will handle criminal proceedings in the economic sector - in particular offences in the areas of debt enforcement and bankruptcy or social criminal law.
Conducting investigative measures: You will carry out the necessary investigative measures and draft indictments, penal orders and dismissal orders. In addition, you will prepare statements on legal questions.
Conducting interrogations: You will conduct interrogations of suspects, informants, witnesses and experts.
Gaining insight: We offer you a varied insight into the work of the Economic Crimes Division, the Institute of Forensic Medicine, the Waaghof remand prison, as well as the opportunity to accompany public prosecutors at court hearings.
Your Profile
Experience: We expect an interest in economic criminal law, especially offences in the areas of debt enforcement and bankruptcy or social fraud. Preferably, you have already completed legal internships in similar fields.
Personality: You enjoy working independently. An impeccable reputation and psychological resilience are indispensable.
Education: You have completed a law degree at a Swiss university (e.g. Master of Law).
Language: You communicate fluently, factually and appropriately for the audience, both orally and in writing.
Insight into our Work
The Public Prosecutor's Office Basel-Stadt, which is administratively attached to the Department of Justice and Security, conducts criminal proceedings for crimes, misdemeanours and offences. It brings and represents the prosecution and issues penal orders as well as other final orders such as dismissal, suspension, non-prosecution or transfer. In addition, the Public Prosecutor's Office provides both national and international legal assistance in criminal matters. These tasks are central to the judiciary and the safety of the people in Basel-Stadt and beyond.
