About the job
The demands on our distribution network are increasing: photovoltaic systems, electric cars and heat pumps are noticeably changing network management and network planning. Would you like to contribute to developing, implementing and testing smart grid solutions in field trials? Do you enjoy developing models and algorithms for specific applications in the power grid? Then you are in the right place with us. As part of our interdisciplinary New Technology, Data & AI team, you will work on solutions for the energy future. Sounds exciting? We think so too and look forward to getting to know you.
What to expect
- You will design intelligent models, optimisation approaches and regulations for energy systems and power grids and develop them in a practical way.
- From the initial idea to the gained insight: you will plan, conduct and evaluate field trials - including data analysis and visualisation of the results.
- With your expertise, you will actively advance smart grid pilot and research projects and shape innovative solutions for tomorrow's energy supply.
- In close exchange with internal stakeholders as well as university and industry partners, you will ensure successful collaboration across various disciplines.
- You will support new R&D project ideas from conception to further development.
- By actively networking with start-ups as well as university and industry partners, you will bring new impulses, technologies and perspectives into the company.
What you bring
- University degree as an engineer, preferably in electrical engineering, energy science and technology, mechanical engineering, energy or systems engineering
- Basic knowledge of energy systems, power grids, optimisation or control engineering
- Initial experience with programming and data analysis, ideally with Python
- Knowledge of IT, cloud technologies or communication technologies is an advantage
- Analytical thinking, conceptual work and enjoyment in approaching technical issues in a structured way
- Very good German and good English skills, both spoken and written

Additional information
You or you? For us, the case is clear. Whether apprentices, electricians, specialists or management, we all use the informal "you". This is part of our refreshingly straightforward company culture. Because we want you to experience this not only on your first day at work, we communicate this way already during the application process and job interviews. Does that sound appealing to you? Then we are a good match. We look forward to your application.
