Reference media, Le Temps is the only French-speaking national daily newspaper in Switzerland. Founded in 1998, Le Temps has been analysing Switzerland and the world daily for over 25 years, offering objective, reliable and quality information. T Magazine is the lifestyle magazine of Le Temps dedicated to contemporary culture, social issues, the world of luxury, fashion and trends shaping our era. Through its print and digital editions, it offers a curious and inspiring view of the world around us.
Your mission
You lead the editorial conception and overall production of T Magazine, in agreement with the editorial board of Le Temps and the group management’s strategy. As a unifying personality, you define the content that will distinguish the title, complementing the Le Temps offering, ensure its quality both in substance and form, and oversee its digital and print distribution. You coordinate the organisation of work within the team in close connection with the editorial board of Le Temps.
You establish a strong connection with the Le Temps editorial team to better promote content on digital and print platforms and contribute to Le Temps’s editorial offering, both daily and at weekends.
You participate in organising events to enhance the brand in close collaboration with the events and commercial teams. You will also be in contact with certain advertisers, while ensuring the editorial independence of the title.
A true driver of innovation, you collaborate transversally and effectively with the company’s various departments. Finally, you lead transformation projects with your team and instil a forward-looking dynamic to adapt the magazine to new journalistic formats and the shifts in the media ecosystem.
Your responsibilities
Editorial management, production and representation:
- Propose and organise content corresponding to the editorial line decided with the editorial board of Le Temps.
- Supervise the entire production chain of T Magazine, from editorial choices to distribution planning, ensuring smooth work organisation.
- Commission topics internally or externally, and rigorously follow up, ensuring quality standards and deadlines are met.
- Regularly write editorials as well as key articles and reference content with high added value for the magazine and digital platforms.
- Supervise the editorial direction of photoshoots while ensuring visual coherence.
- Participate in organising events and represent the brand in external contacts.
- Ensure budget maintenance and compliance.
Management and leadership:
- Supervise, motivate and support the T Magazine team in developing their skills by fostering a climate of trust, listening and collaboration.
- Optimise collaboration methods and work processes to gain efficiency.
Innovation and cross-functional synergies:
- Launch and lead special, diversification or editorial transformation projects, including event projects, for the title and actively participate in them.
- Cultivate a collaborative corporate culture by ensuring links and cross-functional synergies with the entire editorial team, commercial team and management.
Required profile
- Minimum 10 years of professional experience in journalism in Switzerland, with full journalist training and registration in the Professional Register (RP).
- Proven knowledge and skills in fashion, lifestyle, culture, society sections as well as key current affairs sections (international, Swiss, economy).
- Excellent writing and recognised style.
- Extensive network of contacts primarily in Switzerland and abroad.
- Proven and successful experience of at least 3 years in team leadership.
- Proven and successful experience in managing strategic projects.
- Undisputed leadership and unifying spirit.
- Skills in new journalistic formats and new technologies, developed digital culture and strong motivation for these areas.
- High sense of responsibility, very good organisational skills, interpersonal skills and developed team spirit.
- Excellent knowledge of French, very good knowledge of German and English.
