Caritas Switzerland manages a structure that organises and coordinates foster family placements. This organisation, Caritas Family Placement, is certified and approved by various cantons, according to the Ordinance on Child Placement. Caritas Family Placement is committed to supporting placed children as well as foster families according to the best possible professional standards.
Your tasks
- Organisation and support of foster family placements
- Recruitment of new families, support of the evaluation and authorisation process
- Organisation and facilitation of training days for foster families in person and via videoconference
- Coordination of work and project management with the professional or social network surrounding the placed young people
- Support, advice and coaching for foster families as well as placed children and young people
- Administrative work and financial monitoring of budgets for minors and foster families
Our requirements
- University of Applied Sciences degree or Master’s degree in social sciences or equivalent qualification
- Interpersonal skills, listening ability and capacity to work with complex situations
- Ability to act independently while collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team and the network
- Minimum professional experience of 2 to 3 years in supporting children and/or young people, ideally in child protection
- Knowledge of the social environment of French-speaking Switzerland - Confidence in facilitating sessions (intervision and team meetings with foster families)
- Very good command of spoken and written French
- Knowledge of German is a plus
- Proficiency in common IT tools
- Availability for some Saturdays per year
- Flexibility to intervene outside office hours on occasion
- Clean criminal record
- Driving licence is a plus
The workplace is Lausanne and/or Geneva.
Starting date: 1 January 27 or by agreement.
