The Paul Scherrer Institute PSI is the largest research institute for natural and engineering sciences in Switzerland. For the Science Editorial Group of the Communication Department, we are looking for a
Your Tasks
You research and write science journalism articles about PSI's research achievements for the target audience "general public" in German. The articles are published through the various formats of the Communication Department, particularly as press releases, on the PSI websites, and in the PSI Magazine 5232. You actively contribute to the planning of these formats. You maintain proactive contact with PSI researchers and are in close exchange with them when writing articles.
Your Profile
You have a completed scientific degree, preferably in the field of life sciences. Your German is stylistically confident, and your English skills are negotiable. You have experience in writing texts for the general public and are familiar with common journalistic text formats. You have work samples of science journalism texts on research results published in journals such as Nature, Science, Cell, etc. Your understanding of science encompasses the broad spectrum of topics researched at PSI. You are familiar with social media. You work efficiently and have a high degree of punctuality. A background in PR or journalism is desirable, as are French language skills.
