Team Leader Appeals ALV 80 - 100 %
In the interest of employees and companies, the Office for Labor (AFA) contributes to strengthening the location of Zurich. The AFA consolidates labor market policy competencies. Around 650 employees work at over 20 locations. The Unemployment Insurance (ALV) department of the AFA ensures a uniform implementation of the Federal Act on Mandatory Unemployment Insurance and Insolvency Compensation at the cantonal level. To strengthen the appeals group in the legal service of the Unemployment Insurance area, we are looking for a committed personality starting November 1, 2025, or by agreement.
Your tasks:
- Personnel, organizational, and professional leadership of the appeals team
- Ensuring a legally compliant implementation of unemployment insurance (AVIG)
- Independent handling of complex appeals and complaints
- Responsibility for a uniform practice and quality within the ALV
- Advising insured persons, RAV, unemployment funds, and other stakeholders
- Active participation in projects, expert committees, and training
- Optimization of internal processes and technical development
- Exemplifying our leadership principles and co-designing our culture
Your profile:
- A higher vocational education in the field of social insurance (e.g., with federal diploma) or an equivalent qualification with further training
- Several years of professional experience in the field of social insurance or administration, ideally with leadership experience
- Strong communication skills and fluent German in spoken and written form
- Very good MS Office skills and a flair for economic and legal issues
- Decisiveness, resilience, and the ability to analyze complex issues efficiently
- Appreciative, assertive leadership style with an eye for development potential in the team
