In the interest of the public, we are committed to the social and economic integration of adults with learning disabilities, intellectual and/or psychological disabilities. Our services in the areas of living, working and training are professionally designed and aimed at people who need a protected environment. As an innovative company, we harmonise social and business management aspects.
For the leadership and further development of our foundation, we are seeking by agreement an experienced individual as:
Managing Director or Sole Director with a workload of 80 to 100% or Co-Director by agreement
Your field of activity
Reporting directly to the Board of Trustees, you are responsible for the operational management of the foundation. Together with the management team, you implement the strategic goals and further develop the services and organisation. You provide orientation, clarify responsibilities and promote a binding, appreciative collaboration. In doing so, you shape the future of a regionally anchored institution with a significant social mandate.
Your tasks
- You manage the foundation professionally, personally and economically and strengthen the members of the management team in their leadership responsibilities.
- You further develop the strategy together with the Board of Trustees, prepare decision-making bases and report on goals, results and risks.
- Together with the Head of Finance, you ensure forward-looking financial planning, budget compliance and effective use of resources.
- You promote collaboration between living, production, personnel, finance and the Agogic specialist unit and improve cross-departmental processes.
- Together with the responsible specialists, you further develop the quality of the services and strengthen the self-determination and participation of people with support needs.
- You advance organisational development and digitalisation with clear priorities and involve employees in shaping changes.
- You represent the foundation externally and maintain relationships with authorities, cost bearers, relatives as well as partners.
What you bring
- A tertiary education in business administration, social work or a related field, as well as additional competencies in the other area.
- Several years of leadership experience with personnel and budget responsibility, preferably in a social institution or a comparably complex organisation.
- Further training in institutional management or willingness to undertake it.
- The ability to consider economic requirements, the social mandate and the organisational culture in sustainable decisions.
- A clear, accessible and binding leadership attitude as well as the ability to build trust and provide orientation.
- Experience with change processes and willingness to include different perspectives and implement decisions consistently.
Co-Leadership Option
We are open to filling the position within a co-leadership model. Applications are welcome both from individuals interested in co-leadership and from tandems. The individual workloads, division of tasks and joint leadership responsibility will be clarified during the selection process. Please explain your ideas on this in your application.
What to expect
An exciting and demanding leadership role with scope for design and the opportunity to actively shape the future of arwole. You combine entrepreneurial responsibility with a meaningful activity and address diverse questions at the interface of social mandate, professional quality and economic viability.
With your decisions, you create the conditions for people with support needs to live independently, work and develop their abilities. Together with committed professionals, the management team and the Board of Trustees, you will further develop arwole. You will experience the impact of your work directly in the daily life of the foundation.
Your application
Would you like to take on responsibility and help shape perspectives? We look forward to receiving your application by 20 November 2026 at personelles@arwole.ch .
For an initial exchange, Ursina Jenny, Co-Chair of the Board of Trustees, is happy to assist you at 079 796 90 57.
