As a modern service provider with around 260 employees, the Schaffhausen Police ensures safety and order for the benefit of the population throughout the canton of Schaffhausen.
The Criminal Police of the Schaffhausen Police consists of six departments. Their task is to detect, clarify and prevent criminal offences. A wide range of offences is covered: from major crimes such as homicide, robbery, human trafficking and arson to sexual and drug offences, as well as economic and cybercrime. Complex areas such as organised crime and social insurance fraud are also part of the responsibilities.

What to expect- Independent management and handling of criminal police investigative procedures
- Detection and prosecution of offences in the criminal police area through appropriate search and investigative actions
- Opportunity to take on specialist responsibility in the focus area of human trafficking (development, implementation and evaluation of prevention and awareness-raising measures, including internal police training on the topic of human trafficking)
- Planning and leading operations and deployments within the scope of duties
- Provision of criminal police on-call service and support of other service branches in police incident management
- Participation in basic police services in the area of safety and order
- Deployment in regulatory services as well as involvement in alarm organisation
- Deployment at situation- and operation-related working hours
What you bring
- Several years of professional experience as a police officer in basic services as well as knowledge in the criminal police area is an advantage
- Good powers of observation and comprehension
- Analytical and combinatory thinking as well as focus on the essentials
- Precision and fluency in verbal expression
- Independent, goal- and result-oriented working style
- Persistence, confident appearance, assertiveness and ability to work in a team
