At the Vocational School Winterthur, around 200 teachers instruct approximately 3800 learners. The school trains specialists for retail professions (EFZ and EBA), care professionals (FaBe), health & social assistants (AGS), as well as learners in pre-apprenticeships.
For the 2027/28 academic year, we are seeking you as a leader and department head to jointly maintain and develop our culture of appreciation, diligence, and openness.
Together with the school management and in close collaboration with the convent board, subject groups, teachers, and staff, you will shape the quality of teaching and the future of the school as department head. You will contribute significantly to the further development and culture of the entire school and take responsibility for this. You will recruit new teachers and lead and advise them. You will be the contact person for learners, vocational training supervisors, parents, and professional associations and share responsibility for class and timetable planning, teacher performance evaluation, and be responsible for subject and working groups.
Your qualities include the ability to listen and the joy of taking responsibility. You are honest, committed, broadly interested, work very carefully and goal-oriented. You enjoy working in a team and are interested in complementing the existing team with your own strengths and creativity.
If you are familiar with our professional fields and/or have advanced training in teaching development, positive leadership, or communication, these are certainly additional good prerequisites for this varied and exciting role.
The teaching obligation is 8-10 lessons per week, so a teaching diploma for our school level is mandatory. Employment is according to the cantonal secondary and vocational school teacher regulations.
