Job Description

With 18,000 students and nearly 6,000 staff members, the University of Geneva (UNIGE) is one of the largest Swiss higher education institutions. Its Division of Education and Students (DIFE) is at the heart of the student life journey.

Within DIFE, and in collaboration with the OFPC, the Career Centre's mission is to support students and recent graduates of the University of Geneva in their transition from student life to professional life. It helps them identify an activity that matches their interests, motivations and skills, and to adopt a strategic vision for their professional and personal fulfilment.

The Career Centre focuses its mission on the following three strategic axes:

• Providing essential tools for successful job searching through workshops, individual counselling interviews and tutorials
• Facilitating access to the world of work through enriching meetings and activities with employers and professionals
• Helping develop professional experience through internships and first jobs

As part of its objectives agreement (COB5), the enhancement of transversal skills is a key priority for the University. The "Skills Pathway" project, initiated by a multidisciplinary working group, aims to create a sustainable framework for recognising students' transversal skills.

Due to the maternity leave of the post holder, we are looking for a project officer to ensure the continuation of the implementation and management of the various stages of the project, with the main activities being:

1. Implementing the project to enhance students' transversal skills "Skills Pathway" with the support of a small professional group
2. Deploying the selected tools and supporting their adoption by the target audiences
3. Promoting the approach to the various target audiences
4. Evaluating and ensuring the sustainability of the project, notably through monitoring, reporting and continuous improvement
5. Designing and conducting workshops and meetings to encourage exchanges between students and the professional world

Required Qualifications and Skills

The post holder must hold a university Bachelor’s degree. Additional training in project management is a plus.

Minimum 1 year of experience specific to the position’s requirements

Experience in project management, notably of digital tools or platforms

Experience in academic teaching, adult education and online platforms (LMS)

Experience in communication

The post holder is expected to have the following skills:

• Good knowledge of the academic environment and university basic or continuing education
• Good knowledge of the Swiss academic system and development modalities
• Good knowledge of competency frameworks
• Experience in educational engineering
• Analytical (needs analysis), argumentation and synthesis skills
• High versatility, autonomy, methodology
• Ability to work in teams, including multidisciplinary and interdepartmental
• Negotiation skills, communication sense and interpersonal skills
• Creativity and proactivity

Fluency in French and English (written and oral proficiency)
