The International School of Lausanne (ISL) is a leading not-for-profit, International Baccalaureate (IB) World School set in the French speaking part of Switzerland. For our Primary School, we are seeking to appoint an experienced, passionate, and self-motivated
Assistant·e Socio-Éducatif·ve (ASE) / Educateur·rice / Teaching Assistant Early Years / 3-6 ans
We are a dynamic and internationally diverse Primary School with 300 students representing 52 countries and speaking 36 languages. Our 45 passionate educators are driven by a shared goal: to inspire a love of learning and foster personal growth in each student.
We are seeking an exceptional teaching assistant who can bring energy, creativity, and a commitment to excellence to our team.
Main responsibilities:
- Supporting small group and individual instruction under the guidance of a class teacher, reinforcing learning concepts and differentiating instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
- Supervising students in various school settings, including classrooms, school grounds, trips, and curricular activities such as swimming, ice skating, and forest school throughout the year in all seasons.
- Preparing teaching materials and resources while encouraging adherence to the school’s values and expectations.
- Monitoring student progress through observation and updating digital portfolios.
- Working collaboratively with a range of teachers across different class groups and participating in collaborative planning sessions.
- Attending staff meetings, professional development sessions, and serving on committees as needed.
Qualifications and Qualities desired:
You are a dedicated teaching assistant who believes in the power of education to support and inspire young learners. You thrive in a collaborative environment and are committed to helping create engaging, student-centred learning experiences alongside the classroom teacher.
- A CFC as an Assistant(e) Socio-Éducatif(ve) (ASE) or an equivalent qualification.
- A minimum of three years of experience in supporting Early Childhood education.
- Strong understanding of early childhood development and pedagogy, with a passion for working with young learners.
- Experience working in a bilingual environment, with the ability to adapt to students from diverse linguistic backgrounds is a strong asset
- Fluency in French would be a strong asset and any other languages is an advantage.
- Proactive and resourceful, with the ability to take initiative and solve problems.
- Highly collaborative, flexible, and adaptable, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues across different age groups within Early Childhood education.
- Experience building strong relationships and communicating effectively with families.
- Able to swim and be comfortable supporting children in the water.
