About the job
Position: Mechanical Design Engineer Intern
Location: Sonceboz-Sombeval and Boncourt, Switzerland
Within an Innovation/R&D team, you will actively participate in the design of mechatronic products (actuators, electric motors) as well as the design of test and assembly fixtures.
· Create 3D models of parts and assemblies using SolidWorks.
· Produce the associated 2D drawings.
· Perform dimension chain calculations to ensure assembly accuracy and tolerance control.
· Ensure the quality and compliance of the drawings.
· Manage CAD data and documents within the Product Data Management (PDM) system.
· Guarantee proper organisation and traceability of technical information.
· Monitor prototype manufacturing in collaboration with the prototyping workshop.
· Adapt and improve designs based on technical feedback from manufacturing.
These activities will contribute to the development of new mechatronic products and the continuous improvement of tools and methods used during development and prototyping phases.
· Proficiency in a CAD software, ideally SolidWorks for 3D design and 2D drawing.
· Knowledge of functional dimensioning, particularly according to ISO 8015 principles.
· Understanding of design rules related to materials and manufacturing processes (cutting, machining, plastic injection, etc.).
· Rigour, organisation and ability to work in a team.
· Technical curiosity and passion for industrial product design.
· Engineering student in the final year of studies (Master’s level or equivalent), specialising in mechanical or mechatronic engineering.
