Intern for the Immigration and Residence Departments (limited to 12 months)
Office for Migration and Civil Law | 80-100 % | Chur (immediate start, or by arrangement)
The Office for Migration and Civil Law currently employs around 230 staff at over 20 locations and is responsible for the entire range of tasks in the field of migration, i.e. in particular the granting and withdrawal of permits, accommodation and care, enforcement of expulsions as well as integration. In addition, identity cards for Swiss nationals are issued, naturalisations are carried out and supervision of civil status authorities is exercised. The main office of the Office for Migration and Civil Law is in Chur.
We are looking for an intern to support our two departments Immigration and Residence with immediate effect or by arrangement. The position is limited to 12 months (shorter assignments possible by arrangement).
As an intern, you will have the opportunity to gain practical and in-depth insights into the foreign nationals' permit system. You will support the departments with administrative and organisational tasks and learn about the various processes from application to permit or any foreign nationals' measures.
The internship offers you the opportunity to gain valuable professional experience in a varied and demanding administrative environment and to gain a comprehensive insight into the work of the Immigration and Residence Departments.
- Support of the staff of the Immigration and Residence Departments in day-to-day business
- Recording, checking and maintaining data and documents including mail processing and scanning
- Processing of foreign nationals' applications (L, G, B, C permits) including online business
- Correspondence (email and telephone) as well as general administrative tasks
- Research work
- Cooperation with internal and external bodies
- Of legal age and completed secondary school leaving certificate (academic, commercial or technical)
- Quick comprehension, resilience, ability to work in a team
- Good IT skills
- Independence, flexibility and discretion
- Good knowledge of German
- Good knowledge of several cantonal languages is an advantage
