The Institute for Tissue Medicine and Pathology of the University of Bern fulfills an important role in the area of diagnostic services for clinics and hospitals throughout the entire canton of Bern. We employ around 220 staff in diagnostics, research, and teaching.
To support our team in the Technical Service area, we are looking for a Deputy Team Leader Facility Management immediately or by agreement.
Your Tasks
- Co-responsibility for the uninterrupted operation of the building as well as for operation, maintenance, and monitoring of safety and building technology
- Managing maintenance contracts and their periodic review for costs
- Conducting a maintenance plan for preventive maintenance and calibration of all devices and systems in diagnostic operations as well as research operations
- Planning device calibrations for process safety and prerequisites for certified processes
- Execution/organization of smaller maintenance/repair work as well as assistance in the implementation of construction/maintenance measures
- Operation and maintenance of infrastructure facilities such as heating, ventilation, water treatment, wastewater neutralization, electrical and sanitary systems, alarm and monitoring systems
- Monitoring of the building management system (Honeywell)
- Periodic on-call duty in a weekly rhythm, currently about once a month (travel time max. 30 min / driver's license category B required)
- Assistance in the inventory of the equipment park
- Assistance in internal projects
- Assistance with the access control system, in the issuance and return of badges and keys
- Member of the safety and environmental team
- Planning and processing of the safety concept in support with health and safety officers (GeSiBe)
- Deputy safety officer for fire protection (SiBeB)
What You Bring
- Completed technical or craft basic training and several years of professional experience in building services, building technology, and operation of building management systems is an advantage
- Further training with a federal certificate in the areas of building maintenance, maintenance, or facility management is desired
- Team-oriented and service-oriented with a joy in dealing with people
- Reliable and independent working style
- Good MS Office skills
- Good German language skills in spoken and written form and English is an advantage
