Medical Secretary for the Paediatric Surgery Unit
To complete its team, the Paediatric Surgery Unit is looking for a medical secretary at a 90% workload, on a permanent contract. The starting date is scheduled for 1 December 2026 or to be agreed.
Context
The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the five Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, CHUV plays a leading role in medical care, medical research and education.
Within the Woman-Mother-Child Department (DFME), the Paediatric Surgery Service offers comprehensive and multidisciplinary care for children aged 0 to 18 years. It works closely with other services in the department, including neonatology, paediatrics, adolescent medicine, gynaecology and obstetrics.
Mission
- You ensure the production, management and transmission of medical documents and information, both internally and externally
- You handle the billing of medical reports according to TARDOC rules and the processing of AI and insurance requests
- You efficiently manage the organisation of the unit’s consultation and provide administrative support to the responsible physician
- You ensure the telephone availability of the unit and manage various communications, including emails
- You coordinate the follow-up of patient care requests, in collaboration with the nursing and medical teams
- You manage patient files, including their preparation and monitoring of deadlines related to discharge letters
- You actively contribute to the quality, development and continuous improvement of the unit’s services.
Profile
- You hold a medical secretary qualification and/or a commercial employee CFC, or an equivalent recognised title
- You have professional experience in a hospital environment and master medical terminology
- You have excellent command of French and spelling
- You demonstrate rigour, organisation and a good sense of priorities
- You are flexible, attentive, discreet and autonomous, and appreciate teamwork and mutual support
- You know how to work effectively in a demanding and sustained environment
- You are proficient with common IT tools (MS Office) and, ideally, CHUV’s IT tools.
