WaldSchweiz represents the interests of around 250,000 private and public forest owners. The association advocates for framework conditions that allow forest owners and forestry operations to manage the Swiss forest economically and ecologically sustainably. The association supports forest owners with various services. Members include the cantonal forest owners' associations as well as individual institutions. The association's headquarters is centrally located in the city of Solothurn.
- Collaboration in the business area of Economy and Knowledge and at the interface with other business areas (especially Communication and Politics as well as the Directorate).
- Preparation of decision-making bases, statements, and concepts for the department and management, as well as participation in position papers and projects. Additionally: participation in national political monitoring.
- Writing technical reports, presentations, and publications as well as texts for professional journals and association communication.
- Partial responsibility for assigned projects and thematic dossiers.
- Participation and representation of WaldSchweiz's interests in national projects and working groups.
- Forest or environmental generalist with initial professional experience, preferably trained as a forestry engineer FH or in environmental natural sciences ETH (advantageous with a focus on forest and landscape management).
- Interest in working at the interface of theory and science to practice as well as in the broad range of tasks related to the forest topic.
- Networked thinking and acting, efficient, proactive, and independent working style. Enthusiasm and time flexibility.
- Team and communication skills as well as empathetic demeanor.
- Interest in association work, dealing with people, and commitment to Swiss forest owners.
- Very good knowledge of at least one national language and good knowledge of a second. Very good editorial and communication skills.
