The Trademarks & Designs department manages the register and the application procedure for all industrial property rights (patents, trademarks and designs), examines 40,000 trademark and design registration applications annually and assesses 600 trademark conflicts.

What to expect with us
- Preparation of analyses as well as cross-departmental clarification of complex issues related to trademark practice (mainly registration, opposition and cancellation procedures due to non-use)
- Monitoring Swiss and European case law on absolute and relative grounds for refusal
- Supporting the section heads of trademark examination and the trademark experts by providing legal information and advice on complex applications
- Conducting internal and external presentations
- Independent formal and substantive processing of complex national and international trademark registration applications
- Independent drafting of complex formal and substantive decisions in opposition and cancellation procedures due to non-use
What makes you successful
What makes you successful
- You have a degree in law (Bachelor or Master) and additional legal training (bar admission, doctorate in law, LL.M.)
- Your strengths include great editorial skill as well as the ability to express complex ideas clearly and understandably both in writing and orally
- You possess critical thinking, are creative and interested in writing scientific texts and clarifications
- You have at least five years of experience in trademark law
- You are a native German or French speaker and have very good knowledge of the other language as well as very good English skills
