Senior Public Prosecutor 80 - 100%The Zurich Public Prosecutor's Office is responsible for prosecuting crimes committed by adults in the canton of Zurich and employs around 500 staff. The Senior Public Prosecutor's Office supervises nine public prosecutor's offices and is responsible for the planning, leadership, management, and further development of adult criminal prosecution in the canton of Zurich.
Due to the regular retirement of the current post holder, we are seeking a new Senior Public Prosecutor (80 - 100%) from 1 August 2027 or by arrangement.
In this varied role at the intersection of leadership, management, and expertise, you will assume the following responsibilities:
- You lead the five Regional Public Prosecutor's Offices as well as the Relief Public Prosecutor's Office and, together with the Chief Public Prosecutors, ensure effective criminal prosecution.
- You actively shape the strategic direction of criminal prosecution in the canton of Zurich, particularly in the transition of the organisation to digital prosecution and a modern leadership culture.
- Through active interface management with the heads of the police, courts, and cantonal government, you lay the foundation for constructive collaboration at strategic and tactical levels.
- You lead internal projects and interdisciplinary expert groups in the field of criminal prosecution, participate in various project organisations, and represent the Public Prosecutor's Office or the Directorate in public offices and expert commissions.

- You handle political and media stakeholders adeptly and communicate in German, French, and English.
