The AR Hospital Network
The Appenzell Ausserrhoden Hospital Network, with the Herisau Acute Hospital and the AR Psychiatric Centre in Herisau, ensures extended basic medical care for the population in the canton of Appenzell Ausserrhoden and is also the first point of contact for a large part of the population in the surrounding region. Both locations are relevant for care within the canton and beyond.
We are looking for
In the acute somatic care sector under the leadership of Ms Dagmar Steinle, we are seeking immediately or by arrangement a deputy team leader for our nursing emergency department.
Your tasks
- Supporting the team leadership in the personnel and organisational management of employees with various functions in the adult emergency department (Emergency Care Specialists NDS HF, FaGe’s, MPAs, nursing assistants, interns)
- Treatment of emergency patients of all triage categories
- Co-designing projects and process optimisations in the emergency area
- Working in the emergency operation in all shifts
- Contributing to a appreciative, respectful, interdisciplinary and interprofessional collaboration
- Co-responsibility and participation in nursing and treatment concepts of the hospital network and development of new standards
- Electronic documentation and planning of care

Your profile
- You have completed training as a certified Emergency Care Specialist NDS HF and have professional experience in this field
- You are an open, positive personality and ideally have initial experience in personnel management or are motivated to familiarise yourself with this area. Experience is an advantage but not a requirement
- You are willing, in addition to leadership tasks, to work in all shifts in the emergency operation
- You also bring a high level of social competence, keep an overview even in hectic situations and are interested in contributing to the development of the emergency department
- You enjoy developing yourself within a company that promotes learning and where good collaboration is a central aspect of patient care
