The work year is the last compulsory school year for learners from small classes and learners with individualised learning goals from regular classes from Neuhausen and the city of Schaffhausen. Occasionally, young people from other municipalities are also admitted. The aim is for the learners to find a suitable follow-up solution and to be well prepared for entry into the professional world. The work year primarily prepares pupils for the professional world. Practical work in the workshop, kitchen, or studio is of great importance.
