Natural Hazards Project Manager (m/f/d) 80-100%

We are looking for our Environment branch in Lausanne (VD), a Natural Hazards Project Manager (m/f/d) 80-100%.

Your tasks

• Manage natural hazards and geology projects for public and private infrastructures, from risk analysis to implementation of protection measures

• Conduct or supervise hazard studies, mapping, risk analyses and modelling related to landslides, rockfalls, floods, debris flows, avalanches, etc.

• Develop mitigation concepts and support clients in defining constructive, organisational or monitoring measures

• Ensure complete project management: coordination of teams and partners, technical, financial and contractual follow-up, as well as relations with clients and authorities

• Provide expertise in engineering geology and geotechnics, particularly for field interventions and in alpine environments

• Contribute to acquiring new projects, from identifying opportunities to submitting offers and concluding contracts

• Guarantee technical quality and client satisfaction, while participating in the development of skills and methods within the team

• Deliver high-quality technical services efficiently and effectively, and contribute to the continuous improvement of methods and tools

Your profile

• Geologist or engineering degree considered equivalent

• 10 to 15 years or more of professional experience, ideally gained within an engineering or consulting firm in Switzerland, with proven experience managing complex projects

• Very good knowledge of the local context and regional stakeholders, as well as an established network with key clients and partners: cantons, municipalities, OFROU, SBB, transport companies and railway networks, infrastructure managers, etc.

• Experience with rope work and interventions in difficult terrain or alpine environments is a significant asset

• Proficiency in GIS, mapping and modelling tools related to natural hazards

• Fluency in French is mandatory. German and English are assets

• Holder of a driving licence
