The Department of Economic Affairs of the Canton of Zurich (www.vd.zh.ch) includes the Office for Labor (AWI), the Office for Economic Affairs, the Office for Mobility, and administratively the Zurich Transport Network (ZVV).
We are looking for you as the responsible person for all matters related to digitalization and information technology in the AWI, starting immediately or by agreement.
The AWI contributes to strengthening the location of Zurich in the interest of employees and companies. With around 120 employees, the economic competencies are bundled in the AWI. The areas of location promotion, work permits, working conditions, labor relations, and economics are located here.
We are looking for you as the responsible person for all matters related to digitalization and information technology in the AWI, starting immediately or by agreement.

Your tasks:
- Implementation and further development of the digitalization strategy of the canton, directorate, and AWI
- Coordination of all ICT issues and projects in the office as well as representation in cantonal specialist committees and working groups of the directorate
- Maintenance and strategic management of the IT application portfolio (basic, specialist, and cantonal solutions)
- Responsibility for or active support of projects for the digital further development of the office
- Ensuring and further developing the operation of the domain .zuerich
- Close exchange with cantonal partners such as the Office for Informatics or the responsible ICT department in the General Secretariat of the Department of Economic Affairs
Your profile:
- University degree in business administration, (business) informatics, or related fields; additional qualification in digital transformation desired
- ≥ 8 years of professional experience, including at least 5 years in the ICT / digitalization environment
- Very good knowledge of Microsoft 365, solid database know-how
- Experience with Power BI/Power Queries or willingness to build up corresponding know-how
- German written and spoken at a very good level; English is an advantage
- Affinity for future-relevant technologies, pronounced communication and mediation skills, and resilience in a dynamic environment
