About the job
The Schaffhausen Hospitals include the Cantonal Hospital, the Psychiatric Services, the Radiology and Cardiology Posthof Neuhausen practices as well as the Neurology Practice Schaffhausen Centre. With over 1,700 employees, we ensure the extended medical and nursing basic care of the Schaffhausen region. Each year, we care for around 11,000 inpatient and 90,000 outpatient patients. In addition, we are an important training centre in the canton.
For our Pneumology & Sleep Medicine department, we are looking for a committed and qualified individual as Chief Physician Pneumology (80–100%) starting 1 January 2027 or by arrangement.
The Medical Clinic cares for 3,500 inpatients and 6,000 outpatients annually. The range of services includes broad General Internal Medicine as well as extended basic care in the fields of Angiology, Endocrinology/Diabetology, Gastroenterology, Nephrology, Cardiology, Neurology, Oncology and Pneumology/Sleep Medicine. The Pneumology department offers a wide range of pneumological examination and treatment methods for inpatient and outpatient patients, including sleep medicine. We are an FMH training clinic of category B for Pneumology.

- Versatile and responsible role in both outpatient and inpatient settings
- Independent management of the pneumological consultation including sleep medicine
- Performance of bronchoscopies including EBUS, pleural interventions and consultative co-management of inpatient patients
- Professional supervision as well as participation in the training, further education and continuing education of assistant and senior physicians
- Close interdisciplinary collaboration within and outside the Cantonal Hospital
- Participation in the internal medicine on-call service

What You Bring to Us
- FMH specialist title in Pneumology and General Internal Medicine (or corresponding MEBEKO equivalents)
- Extensive clinical experience in the entire spectrum of pneumology
- High social competence, communication skills and enjoyment of interdisciplinary collaboration
- Independent, structured and responsible working style
- Commitment and initiative as well as interest in further developing Pneumology & Sleep Medicine together with the existing team
