Your Tasks

Comprehensive Business Analysis: You deeply understand customer needs and accompany AI projects from PoC to product. You create clear concepts, manage changes, and ensure efficient business understanding at the interface between the specialist department and IT.

Requirements Engineering: You confidently create functional concepts, user stories, and acceptance criteria. You document complex requirements in a structured manner and moderate as a strong mediator between stakeholders to guarantee viable technical solutions.

AI Platforms & Governance: You bring expertise in data modelling, quality, and regulation. You evaluate AI use cases, derive concepts, and leverage synergies to ensure the secure implementation of data-driven innovations in line with governance requirements.

Automation & Process Optimisation: You identify automation potentials in complex processes. With data-driven solutions – from classic RPA approaches to modern, agent-based AI systems – you sustainably increase the efficiency of the cantonal administration.

Scalable Product Development: You translate business requirements into AI products. Through uniform frameworks, you develop scalable solutions such as document generators, chatbots, or search systems that can be used as adaptive core components throughout the ecosystem.

Your Profile

Experience: Several years of experience in building modern data and AI platforms as well as analysing complex requirements. You are confident in handling cloud architectures, DataOps, MLOps, and developing data-driven products.

Personality: You think customer-oriented, act proactively, and take responsibility. Even in complex situations, you remain solution-focused. Communication skills, negotiation ability, and genuine teamwork characterise your working style.

Education: Higher degree (university/FH) in (business) informatics or business administration. You bring several years of experience in business analysis in the digitalisation environment (applications) as well as solid practical knowledge in agile project methods.

Language: Confident communication with a wide range of customer groups. You formulate precise concepts and present them confidently. Very good German skills are essential; good English skills are an advantage.

IT BS is the internal IT service provider of the Canton of Basel-Stadt and belongs to the Department of Finance. The department provides the collaboration and communication infrastructure for mobile and stationary IT workplaces and the associated support. Additionally, IT BS continuously develops various offerings for the public in the area of eGovernment and digitalisation. A functioning IT is central to the efficient operation of the cantonal administration.

The Cross-Section Applications department drives digitalisation in the Canton of Basel-Stadt. Our modular ecosystem includes, among others, eGovernment, business administration, the bs.ch website, UX/design system, chatbots, as well as low-code, development, AI, and data platforms. As a member of the new cross-functional AI and Process Automation team, you develop solutions that provide real added value to the cantonal administration. Through precise business analyses, you sustainably increase customer satisfaction and actively shape the digital future of the canton.
