The Hospital Network AR
The Hospital Network Appenzell Ausserrhoden, with the acute hospital Herisau and the Psychiatric Centre AR in Herisau, ensures extended basic medical care for the population in the canton of Appenzell Ausserrhoden and is also the first point of contact for a large part of the population in the surrounding region. Both locations are relevant for care within the canton and beyond.
We are looking for
Under the education leadership of Ms Sarah Tihanyi, Ms Rahel Borgogno is seeking an intern for patient administration at the Psychiatric Centre location in Herisau from 1 January 2027 for a period of 6-12 months.
Your tasks
- Recording and processing patient data
- Recording and processing creditors (third-party invoices)
- Recording and processing cost approvals
- Invoicing of assigned areas
- Assistance/back office at reception
- Written and oral clarifications with insurance companies, authorities and patients
- General administrative tasks
- Electronic archiving

- You have completed compulsory schooling.
- You have proficient skills in common MS Office programmes and are interested in the contexts of the Swiss healthcare system.
- You are a reliable, team-oriented and motivated person and have good German language skills.
- A responsible and careful working style characterises you as well as your affinity for handling various IT applications.
- You bring good teamwork skills and gladly support your colleagues with your helpful nature.
