At the Paul Scherrer Institute (PSI), the position of a senior physician for proton radiotherapy is to be filled as soon as possible. The position is linked to a 20% appointment as a professor ad personam at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Zurich and the Clinic for Radio-Oncology of the University Hospital Zurich. It is planned that the person, with appropriate qualifications, will have the opportunity to take over the management of the Centre for Proton Therapy within 1–2 years after taking office.
You are a dynamic, integrative personality with extensive expertise in proton radiotherapy including the clinical care of patients. You hold a specialist title in radio-oncology/radiotherapy or an equivalent qualification as well as comprehensive clinical experience in the entire field of radio-oncology, including paediatric oncology, and clinical and scientific expertise in particle and high-precision radiotherapy. A habilitation or equivalent academic qualification is required. You have published in relevant scientific journals and have experience in leading research projects, successfully acquiring competitive third-party funding as a principal investigator, as well as enthusiasm for student teaching and academic junior staff development. Your participative, goal-oriented leadership style ensures an attractive working environment for academic and clinical specialists.
