Nurse

A cantonal public law institution, the CNP is tasked with leading the health policy of the canton of Neuchâtel in the field of mental health, in collaboration with partner institutions. The CNP aims to rehabilitate patients suffering from mental disorders by adopting an integrated and community psychiatry model; it implements public policies for the promotion and prevention of mental health; it acts as a reference centre in the field of professional training and research in psychiatry.

The adult department is seeking, for its legal pathway at the Bellevue Prison Medicine and Psychiatry Service (SMPP) in Gorgier, a:

Nurse at 80%

As part of your role you will be expected to:

• provide nursing care on prescription or within the scope of your own role aimed at maintaining or restoring the health of detainees
• ensure transitional follow-up for persons leaving detention to the open environment (transition case management model)
• collaborate with various stakeholders in an interdisciplinary manner
• inform detainees about their rights, duties and responsibilities regarding health
• implement and monitor the application of concordat rules and the internal regulations of the institutions concerning the operation of the medical sector

The skills required for this position are as follows:

• hold a HES / ES nursing diploma or an equivalent qualification recognised by the Swiss Red Cross
• have a clean criminal record
• driving licence and private vehicle essential for travel between the two sites (EDPR and EEPB)
• demonstrate commitment to the responsibilities entrusted within the security mission of the SMPP
• know the Swiss health system and the Neuchâtel health network
• be mobile and have excellent personal organisational skills and adaptability to change
• work independently and handle crisis situations
