Job Description
Reporting to the Assistant Technical Director, the essential responsibilities and functions of the position include, but are not limited to:
- Inspect and clean the exterior/around the building.
- Inspect the condition of the soil in green spaces after rain and topsoil spreading.
- Thorough inspection of roads, parking lots, and paved recreational areas.
- Maintenance of green spaces, rubbish and leaf collection.
- Inspection of external taps (irrigation system).
- Inspection of external lighting fixtures.
- Sweeping of roads and pedestrian paths.
- Inspection of retaining walls and fences.
- Cleaning of gutters, drains, and channels.
- Weeding of green spaces and flower beds.
- Weeding and cleaning of sewers, drains, gutters, and water evacuation points.
- Weeding and repair of paved/concrete roads and pedestrian paths.
- Inspect and clean all external stairs on each level.
- Inspect and clean public areas.
- Maintain and clean a space, place, or premises according to the manager’s instructions.
- Select appropriate cleaning products and materials.
- Disinfect and decontaminate sensitive premises.
- Eliminate pollution in places by airing and deodorising.
- Maintain floor coverings.
- Wash windows.
- Replenish small supplies, cleaning products, and equipment for the day’s activities.
- External cleaning with appropriate tools.
- Clear snow from hotel access points, secure slippery areas in winter (snow removal, sand spreading).
- Be responsible for the good presentation and cleanliness of assigned areas while respecting the standards established by Fairmont and the expectations of our clientele.
- Assist with green space maintenance under the gardener’s guidance.
- Maintain equipment and machinery.
- Perform first-level maintenance.
- Consistently provide a professional, friendly, and pleasant service.
- Carefully execute assigned service tasks.
- Any other tasks as assigned.
- Take note of work orders.
- Be accountable to the superior for assigned tasks.
- Report completed work to the hierarchical superior.
- Constantly offer a professional, approachable, and engaging service.
- Commit to the quality of service, discretion, and absolute honesty.
- Maintain a professional attitude, be smiling, and remain calm at all times.
- Learn and apply the technical and emotional standards of LQA.
- Respect ergonomic work standards, health & safety rules, hygiene, and sanitary prescriptions.
- Respect the policies, procedures, and service standards of the department and company.
Qualifications
- 6 months’ experience in a similar position (public space maintenance).
- Physical work capacity.
- Experience in 4* or 5* hospitality, an advantage.
- Excellent knowledge of the French language.
- Knowledge of English, an advantage.
- Autonomous: time management, work organisation, and economy of movements.
- Rigour and speed of execution.
- Flexibility and initiative-taking.
- Versatile and able to work in a team.

VISA REQUIREMENTS
To work in Switzerland, the candidate must hold a Swiss work permit or be from an EU-17 or EU-8 European country.
