Good reasons to work for the City of St.Gallen:
Your department
The Fire and Civil Protection Department of St.Gallen is a modular organisation for the protection of the population, the environment and property. It manages all kinds of damage incidents and limits their impact. The professional fire brigade of St.Gallen handles around 1,000 operations per year with its own resources and is supported in major incidents by around 200 members of the militia fire brigade or neighbouring fire brigades. In dealing with extraordinary events, units from civil protection support the emergency services of the fire brigade, police and rescue service.
Our corporate culture
We foster open, constructive collaboration within the department as well as with other city departments or external partner organisations. Continuous improvement of our structures and processes is important to us. We promote independent working, are open to new ideas and implement them together wherever possible.
What we offer
You perform meaningful work for our city region and its residents. In doing so, you work in a versatile environment with motivated and committed colleagues. In addition, you benefit from modern employment conditions that enable a good balance between work and private life. We accompany you for 18 months on your path to becoming a professional firefighter with a federal specialist certificate. You complete the training on a 100% basis and receive full pay during this time.
