The Merian Iselin Clinic is a state-of-the-art private clinic with a public service mandate in Basel. Our focus areas are orthopedics, surgery, and urology. With us, you will find meaningful work in a family-like environment where people are at the center. The Nursing Department is our largest area in terms of personnel and includes, in addition to the inpatient wards, education, nursing development, the IMC, and the orthopedic emergency (nursing), also the entire reception area.
Your main tasks
- Overall professional, personnel, organizational, and economic responsibility for the Nursing Department, including the continuous assurance of efficient, lean, and performance-oriented processes.
- As a member of the executive board, you actively shape the strategic direction of the clinic and ensure the further development of a performance- and quality-oriented nursing organization.
- Initiation and management of lean management projects as well as promotion of a culture of continuous improvement (CIP) throughout the nursing area.
- As a role model, you share responsibility for a positive working climate and practical, high-quality service.
- Partnership-based, open, and constructive relationship and collaboration with the attending physicians.
- Analysis, optimization, and digital further development of processes and structures with a focus on efficiency, resource use, patient experience, and interprofessional collaboration.
- Budgeting and budget responsibility, planning of investments, and continuous meaningful standardization of materials and processes.
- Recruitment and further development of the subordinate employees.
- Ensuring nursing quality under professional, legal, economic, and quality-relevant aspects.
- Support in the implementation of professional concepts, strategies, and quality standards in the areas and teams under supervision.
- Close interdisciplinary collaboration with all involved professional groups and departments.
- Participation in projects and quality development.
- Contribution to the positioning of nursing in the regional competition as well as to the further development of our unique selling points as a leading orthopedic specialty clinic.
Your profile
- Nursing vocational training at tertiary level (at least certified nursing specialist HF/FH, BSc./MSc. Nursing or similar), supplemented by solid management training and combined with several years of professional, leadership, and project experience.
- Experience in lean management, organizational development, or process optimization.
- Strong business understanding, ability to manage complex budgets and key figures.
- Familiarity with the challenges of the Swiss healthcare system and interest in the further development of a competitive, performance-oriented nursing service.
- Integrative personality and willingness to embody our appreciative and motivating leadership culture.
- Ability to think visionary, recognize trends, and respond flexibly.
- Excellent communication skills in an interprofessional environment, combined with the ability to convey complex content appropriately to the target audience. High digital affinity, ideally experience with digital transformation projects or clinical information systems.
- High empathy and teamwork skills.
- Responsible and solution-oriented working style.
