Job Description

Are you an experienced Azure Engineer with a passion for modern cloud infrastructures in the Microsoft environment?

This is what gets you up in the morning:

• You take on complex requests in the Microsoft Azure area and are the technical contact person for demanding customer requirements.
• You shape the digital future of our customers and develop modern cloud infrastructure solutions in the Microsoft environment.
• You are responsible for the configuration, further development and operation of Azure platforms with a focus on compute and storage, network (VNet, NSG, VPN/ExpressRoute), Microsoft Entra ID and RBAC as well as backup and disaster recovery.
• You plan and implement modern landing zone and security concepts according to CAF/WAF and ensure secure, efficient and reliable operation of customer platforms.
• You build monitoring and alerting – Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, KQL queries, alert rules and dashboards – and ensure that alarms are meaningful rather than loud.
• You analyse and resolve complex faults, support customers with technical challenges and coordinate change, incident and problem management activities with customers, manufacturers and partners.
• You automate and optimise processes with Terraform, PowerShell and Azure DevOps Pipelines and contribute to the standardisation and continuous development of our services.
• You keep an eye on patch compliance, backup evidence and Azure costs of your customers and derive concrete improvements from them.
• You take turns on call duty and ensure together with the team that our customers can count on us even outside office hours.
• You create technical documentation and operating concepts, maintain our knowledge base and share your know-how in workshops, training sessions and active knowledge exchange within the team.

We expect from you:

• You have completed training as an IT specialist EFZ or a comparable qualification; further training at HF/FH level is an advantage or already planned.
• You bring several years of professional experience as a Cloud or Azure Engineer as well as sound knowledge in the Microsoft Azure environment.
• You have sound knowledge in Azure Compute and Storage, Azure Networking, Microsoft Entra ID and RBAC as well as practical experience in backup and restore operations and in Azure Monitor.
• You have experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and Git workflows and have successfully implemented demanding Azure and cloud migration projects in complex environments.
• You are confident in using PowerShell and Azure CLI and use automation and standardisation specifically to optimise processes and services.
• Knowledge of Azure Policy and Governance, Azure Site Recovery, Cost Management, Microsoft Defender for Cloud as well as experience with Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), Azure DevOps Pipelines or hybrid scenarios are an advantage. Microsoft certifications such as AZ-104, AZ-305, AZ-500 or AZ-400 are a plus.
• You are willing to participate in on-call duty on a rota basis.
• You work independently, structured and solution-oriented, convince with your customer and service orientation and communicate confidently. You have a good command of German and good English skills; French is an additional plus.
