Retail specialists know all about the products they sell. They are sociable people who respond to customers’ wishes with interest and patience and remain calm even when things get hectic. Basic training in retail focuses on activities in the sales area. Aspiring retail specialists learn to advise customers professionally. This means they know the range, can provide information and advise customers. Individual customer orders, such as a special birthday cake or a lavish aperitif, offer a special variety.
The training lasts 3 years. The additional training for retail assistants lasts 2 years. Next possible apprenticeship start: August 2026.
