We are looking on behalf of our client based in the Canton of Jura for a:
Customs Declarant (100%) | Canton of Jura
As a customs declarant, you carry out customs formalities and administrative tasks related to the import and export of goods. You know and comply with customs legislation, calculate duties and taxes, and prepare customs declarations in accordance with the regulations applicable to road, rail, maritime, inland waterway, and air transport.
Your Responsibilities:
- Know the legal and customs provisions related to imported or exported products such as alcohol, explosives, or precious metals
- Check the conformity of the documents provided
- Collaborate with clients to avoid the risk of submitting incorrect customs declarations
- Inform clients about the tariff classification of goods as well as the application and interpretation of customs legislation or other regulations
- Carry out physical inspections of goods
- Prepare official documents, customs declarations, import, export, clearance forms, etc.
- Prepare certificates for certain goods such as war material or works of art, attach documents such as health certificates
- Communicate information to customs about goods concerning, for example, the mode of sale, origin, or weight
- Apply tariffs, duties, and taxes based on the dimensions and characteristics of the goods
- Calculate prices and handle invoices
- Supervise and train the company’s customs department staff, oversee their work

Training:
- Federal diploma as a customs declarant
