The Office for the Environment ensures the protection and sustainable management of natural resources and ensures that the environment of the Canton of Solothurn remains worth living in. Within the Coordination Department, the IT division supports the office's employees in IT operations and IT projects. For the Coordination Department, we are looking for a Head of IT, 80-100% at the Solothurn location from 01.02.2027 or by agreement.

Your responsibilities

• At the interface between the Office for IT and our employees, you coordinate IT operations, organise user support, and promote digitalisation in the Office for the Environment.
• You analyse business processes and identify digital potentials as well as synergies throughout the office.
• For our specialised applications, you capture and document requirements, plan life cycles and releases.
• You lead IT projects in collaboration with the subject matter experts, prepare project proposals and protection requirement analyses, and prepare decisions for the office management.
• You provide professional supervision to two employees in the IT division.

Your profile

• You have a (technical) university degree in a scientific field with additional training in IT or have IT training with good knowledge in the environmental sector.
• Your professional background includes good knowledge in data management, business analysis, project and process management, as well as requirements engineering.
• Ideally, basic knowledge of Geographic Information Systems completes your profile.
• You can demonstrate several years of experience in project management and leading IT projects.
• As a team player, you are used to thinking interdisciplinarily and networked, and to collaborating with numerous internal and external partners. The processes in a cantonal administration are familiar to you.
