The cantonal office (KAST) is the legal service of the unemployment insurance and ensures uniform enforcement of the Unemployment Insurance Act (AVIG) at the cantonal level. Notifications and transfers from the Regional Employment Centres (RAV) and the unemployment funds regarding entitlement questions are processed by KAST, and corresponding decisions and appeal rulings are issued.
