The assistant's tasks include in particular supervising students attending courses in the field of the law of natural persons and family law, divorce law and personality protection law, preparing and grading exams, respectively participating as a jury member in oral exams, as well as contributing to the professors' research and publication activities.
The assistant has 50% of the activity rate for the preparation of a doctoral thesis or other scientific publications.
Priority will be given to those wishing to write a doctoral thesis with aspects of the law of natural persons and family law.
The candidate will be hired on a two-year contract which may be renewed for two successive periods, respectively two years and one year. The maximum duration of the assistant position is five years. The first year is a probationary period during which the employment relationship may be terminated with a three-month notice period to the end of a month.

Job description
The Faculty of Law of the University of Geneva is offering a 100% assistant position in the law of natural persons and family law, within the civil law department, starting April 1, 2026.The assistant's tasks include in particular supervising students attending courses in the field of the law of natural persons and family law, divorce law and personality protection law, preparing and grading exams, respectively participating as a jury member in oral exams, as well as contributing to the professors' research and publication activities.
The assistant has 50% of the activity rate for the preparation of a doctoral thesis or other scientific publications.
Required degree and skills
Master of law from a Swiss university, with a good overall grade. Master of law students at the Faculty of the University of Geneva may also apply, provided they have already obtained 240 ECTS credits and their diploma thesis is about to be completed.Priority will be given to those wishing to write a doctoral thesis with aspects of the law of natural persons and family law.
