Job description
We are looking for a motivated person to work as a doctoral assistant in the field of interdisciplinary children's rights studies, to contribute to the consolidation and development of research and teaching programmes as well as to the service provision of the Interfaculty Centre for Children's Rights (CIDE).Located in Sion, Valais, the CIDE's mission is to deepen, through teaching and research, the field of interdisciplinary children's rights studies. It aims to study issues affecting childhood as a social group and the child as a social actor and rights holder. Through its expertise in inter- and transdisciplinarity, the CIDE encourages dialogue between disciplines by pooling knowledge, confronting and negotiating viewpoints on complex study subjects.
Within the scope of its terms of reference, the assistant:
- Engages in a thesis project in the field of interdisciplinary children's rights studies, with an emphasis on psychological, social and/or educational dimensions.
- Contributes to teaching, supervising students, formulating and marking exams, as well as monitoring and evaluating individual and group work for teaching within the framework of the Interdisciplinary Master's in Children's Rights (MIDE).
- Collaborates in the research activities of the responsible professor and participates in the research activities of the CIDE.
- Participates in administrative tasks related to research and teaching activities.
Title and required skills
- Hold a Master's degree in children's rights or psychology/education sciences, or an equivalent qualification.
- Demonstrate proven skills in scientific research, particularly a good knowledge of research methods in human and social sciences, and show clear motivation to complete a doctoral thesis in the field of interdisciplinary children's rights studies.
- Show autonomy, organisation, curiosity and openness; possess very good interpersonal skills and be able to integrate and collaborate within a multidisciplinary team.
- Have an excellent command of French; additionally, have a good command of English (level B2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).
