PH Zurich actively shapes education, school and teaching of today and tomorrow in teaching and research. The Primary Level Department is responsible for the training of primary school teachers. It offers bachelor-level degree programmes as well as subject and level extensions that impart fundamental competencies for teaching at the primary level. The Primary Level Office ensures comprehensive, smooth coordination and administration of the degree programmes.
For the management of the Primary Level Office, we are looking for an experienced, convincing personality who brings people together around the work and convinces through their open and appreciative manner. They possess strong organisational and communication skills, work in a structured and effective way with the staff and stakeholders of the office. In a demanding and changing environment, they act proactively, create orientation and promote a trusting collaboration.
- Leading with clear expectations and performance standards – combined with an appreciative, empowering attitude
- Actively advancing digitalisation and enabling staff for changing requirements
- Responsible for a contemporary and efficient organisation and coordination of the administrative processes of the Primary Level Department as well as their strategic and operational further development in collaboration with other team leaders and organisational units
- Coordinating central planning tasks, including timetable orders, room reservations and alignment with degree programme and area management to ensure service delivery
- Representing the team towards internal and external stakeholders
- Participating in projects and proactively supporting change and development processes
- Completed degree (University of Applied Sciences/University, e.g. Business Administration) or equivalent qualification (federal diploma HF/HFP) with relevant further training in leadership desired
- Several years of demonstrably successful leadership experience of a service-oriented organisational unit, ideally in a higher education, educational or administrative environment
- Experience in designing and implementing change or integration processes
- Affinity for digital transformation combined with awareness of the high importance of people in this transformation
- Loyalty to the organisation and superiors, strong service orientation – combined with the ability to prioritise clearly and also set boundaries
- Resilience, decisiveness and a confident handling of complexity and change
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
