About the job
In the canton of Thurgau, all residents should feel safe. This is ensured by nearly 600 employees of the Thurgau Cantonal Police around the clock with a modern organization and in close contact with the population.
The tasks of the Early Intervention Service include the early detection, assessment, and handling of risk situations, in violence protection with threat management as well as in the area of youth police. The goal is to defuse conflicts, implement preventive measures, and support those affected before problems or dangerous situations escalate. The service works closely with other authorities, schools, social institutions, families, and external partners.
The Communication and Prevention Department is looking for a
Your main tasks:
- Overall management and strategic further development of the Early Intervention Service (Violence Protection Unit and Youth Police Unit)
- Ensuring professional and timely handling of threat situations to prevent potentially serious violence, especially through structured assessment of threat potential
- Leadership of threat management
- Ensuring professional handling of youth-specific problem and offense situations for early prevention of juvenile delinquency
- Organization and leadership of reports and interdisciplinary case discussions
- Building and maintaining cross-departmental internal and external networking
- Leadership and participation in expert committees, working and project groups, both internally and externally
- Concept work based on legal foundations and/or scientific findings
Your profile:
- Police officer with a federal professional certificate and/or several years of experience in repressive and preventive police work
- In-depth knowledge and practice in concept and project work
- Analytical skills to assess complex matters
- Very good written expression skills and routine in preparing demanding reports
- Solid knowledge in scientific work or willingness to acquire it
- Proven leadership experience is an advantage
- Proven ability to convey professional knowledge in training and presentations to internal and external stakeholders
- Willingness to independently acquire new and complex expertise
