Jobdescription For our client, a leading company in the pharmaceutical sector, we are seeking a diligent and highly motivated Research Associate to join the non-malignant hematology group. As part of a larger team, you will design and execute in vitro and ex vivo experiments to evaluate the efficacy, safety and mode of action of novel therapies for bleeding disorders such as hemophilia and Von Willebrand Disease.

Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Validate and apply novel in vitro systems (incl. microphysiological systems,organoids, "organ-on-a-chip") for the assessment of new targets or therapeutic agents that can be leveraged to address bleeding disorders
- Apply state-of-the-art imaging technologies (e.g. confocal imaging) to the analysis of in vitro test systems utilizing patient plasma and blood
- Collaboratively design, execute, and interpret data from in vitro and ex vivo experiments, to assess the efficacy, safety and mode of action of novel therapies in the area of bleeding disorders
- Concisely present experimental data to the group during regular team meetings
- Continuously improve test systems, treatment, analysis, and data evaluation Contribute to work process optimization including data capture, storage and assay automation
- Work closely with all members of the group, share duties, maintain a clean work environment and actively contribute to the positive work atmosphere within the group
Must Haves: - MSc/BSc in Life Sciences (cellular/ molecular biology, pharmacology, immunology), or completion of an apprenticeship for a research associate ("Lehrabschluss") with at least 3 years of relevant academic or industry experience
- Experience in confocal microscopy, live cell imaging, and microfluidic systems
- Experience in applying in vitro analytical technologies such as ELISAs and biochemical assays for data analysis and result evaluations
- Effective communication in English, both in writing and orally. Skillfully able to interact with people and have strong commitment to teamwork
- Excellent data management and record-keeping skills
Nice to Have: - Technical and theoretical background/expertise in in vitro/ex vivo models of hemostasis and thrombosis
